Butterflies of the Alberta Foothills

If you like butterflies these photographs are a must see. They were taken on a very windy day with thunder and lightening approaching in Kananaskis Country making it a difficult photo shoot.

All Dressed in Pink and Nowhere to Go

I thought I would make the theme of my post today a "pink" one. The photographs that I have posted below are from my garden. The last one is a budding Hollyhock which looks like strawberry ice-cream.

Abandoned Prairie Homesteads

Every time I travel the prairie provinces in Canada, I pass a small rural town in Alberta. As you drive by, the only view of the town that you can see are abandoned buildings, once very viable farming homesteads but now just a reminder of forgotten times. On my recent trip I decided to stop, and with camera in hand, thought I might be able to capture some of those days of your. The photographs below is my attempt. Although not as pretty as flowers or as bold as mountains there is something still picturesque about these images.
