Traveling Back in TIme

Fort Calgary, established in 1875 as Fort Brisebois by the North-West Mounted Police is located where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet in what is now Calgary, Alberta. The construction of the fort was initiated on April 10, 1875 by a federal order to force out whiskey traders from the area.

Photographed during a recent visit to Fort Calgary.

Butterfly Beauties

These butterflies were photographed in the past week at the Calgary Zoo. The zoo has an amazing area to view and enjoy free flying butterflies. It is definitely one of my favorite places to spend time at.

The Not-So-Shy Chickadee

These birds, found in North America, are referred to as chickadees. Since they have quick movements and are notably shy, it is amazing that such photographs are possible. I photographed these in Edworthy Park, Calgary, Alberta.
