Macro-photography in the Rocky Mountains

The Rocky Mountains provides many photographic opportunities and serve well as rich, beautiful backdrops for photographs taken by family tourists. Today I attempted to capture photographs to that demonstrates the art of photography and separates it from the average tourist photograph. As an amateur photographer, I used my time on the trails to practice skills with macro-photography. The photographs that follow were taken with the lens of my DSLR located less than 5 cm of the subject.

These photographs were taken at Grassi Lakes, located South of Canmore, Alberta, Canada (where Canmore ends and Kananaskis Country begins)
